Full of excitement about our energy options, I've been reading up on solar power and I've found quite a few small solar panels that cost only a few hundred dollars and still provide the energy to run our few small electronics. This is very exciteng, as it makes it more comfortable to be off the grid! I can still power my laptop, phone, radio, and kitchen-aid, without using a generator and without signing on with an electric company.

I've also discovered that when people know your attempting to transition off the grid, they are amazingly helpful in the hunt for helpful items. A co-worker mentioned today that his wife may have a kick wheel packed away, and offered to look into it for me! I love people - they're so very good!
