Today

Today I am..

Feeling..energized. It's early, but I've been up for awhile now, and I've got two cups of nourishing tea in me, and all sorts of enthusiasm for the day! I had a great run last night, I think it's carried over a bit.

Seeing..my books piled all over the house..I've been trying to figure out what to focus on in August, I'm leaning towards Gregory of Nyssa, but I'm not committed. I've never been good at commitment..and I love seeing books all around.

Smelling..my tea: nettle, raspberry leaves, and some sort of spicey-fruit blend a friend gave me this winter..there's steam coming out of my new little teapot. I love my new teapots, bought to replace the one I made, which is usable, but no longer has a handle, so it's difficult to pour. I really need to be more careful with my things.

Tasting..tea and fruit. I wanted yogurt this morning, but we're all out. We're out of grapefruit too..I didn't have time to make oatmeal..I'm sort of dissatisfied with breakfast this morning.

Listening.. to Catholic Answers Live..I know, it is too early to think, but I've got lots of energy, and I've been sort of bored with the music avaliable on my little radio.

Grateful...for mouse traps and make-up. I need both today.

Reading.. One of my favorites, Kierkegaard's Sickness Unto Death..and feeling like an absolute dork, because it's bringing me back to some things we've discussed in the Harry Potter Book Club..don't judge me too harshly, really..it can't be helped.
Loving..my garden - where herbs have just be cut for drying, radishes and arugula are popping out of the ground, purple carrots are pick-able and cucumbers are abundant.

Hoping.. I'll see the sky behind the clouds at some point today!

  2. Whoa! And to think I was gonna say something complimentary about your post! "Looks" is far to vague, instead say "sweet hair, wicked straight top teeth, ruggedly handsome face and chiseled body". Not a lot of options, real nice.

    1. "..not a lot of options worth considering once I saw Him.." Is that better?? ;)

    2. ..or maybe "I was completely incapable of Noticing any other options once I met him..there might have been a lot of them, desperately in love with me, Normal ones too, not just scary guys who get off work at midnight and want to meet me somewhere or enthusiastic young Cantors, looking for a nice girl who can make pierogi.." ;)

  3. I might live on yogurt during August. ;)

Props on getting your herbs cut! Mine are in desperate need, especially the oregano.

And that IS a fantastic picture.

    1. Some of my herbs are cut..some are still in desperate need!!

We should totally live on yogurt! I'm addicted..but for some reason No One around here carries the full fat Greek yogurt anymore, so I'm back to 'european style' which just isn't as good. :)
